The AFFAROM story began in 1935, when Late Shri Sitaram Jhunjhunwalla pioneered fragrance imports in India—becoming one of the first to introduce perfumery raw materials and essential oils to the country. His vision and courage laid the foundation of a family legacy in the Fragrance & Flavour Industry.
In 1957, his son Late Shri Govind Prasad Jhunjhunwalla carried forward the mission, establishing one of Kolkata’s leading perfumery trading firms and playing an active role in industry associations. He served the Aromatic Traders Association (ATA – Kolkata) as a President for four consecutive terms from 1980 to 1984. He also became the President of the prestigious Essential Oil Association of India (EOAI) in the year 1991.
The third generation, led by Late Shri Anand Jhunjhunwalla, transformed this trading legacy into a manufacturing powerhouse with the creation of AFF AROMATICS Pvt. Ltd. (AFFAROM) in 1994. As Creative Director and Master Perfumer, he set the tone for innovation and excellence in fragrance creation. He served as the Vice President for East Zone of Essential Oil Association of India (EOAI) for several terms. He was elected as the First President of Fragrances and Flavours Association of India (FAFAI) from the Eastern Zone in the year 2011.
